The University of Miami is in search of a Senior Radiology Technologist to join our esteemed team in Miami, Florida.

Position Overview

This role is pivotal in providing exceptional radiological services to our patients, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the imaging process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work Schedule: 40 hours per week, 8-hour shifts during the day

The Senior Radiology Technologist will be responsible for:

  • Operating advanced radiologic and magnetic imaging equipment to generate diagnostic images.
  • Evaluating developed images to ensure they meet diagnostic standards.
  • Documenting comprehensive patient medical histories.
  • Communicating procedures clearly to patients, monitoring their conditions, and reporting any irregularities to medical staff.
  • Positioning patients correctly and ensuring their comfort during examinations.
  • Maintaining and organizing examination rooms, ensuring all necessary equipment is ready for use.
  • Conducting routine maintenance and minor repairs on imaging equipment.
  • Adhering to institutional policies and safeguarding resources.
Department-Specific Duties

In addition to core responsibilities, the role includes:

  • Performing radiological examinations for patients.
  • Greeting patients, obtaining consent, and recording vital signs.
  • Entering patient information into the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
  • Assisting healthcare providers during examinations and procedures.
Qualifications

Education: Associate degree in a relevant field.

Certification: Valid Radiologic Technologist (RT) license.

Experience: A minimum of 5 years in a related field is required.

Additional Skills: Knowledge of x-ray techniques, patient alignment, and proficiency in computer applications.
