Radiation Therapist

As a Radiation Therapist at Blue Ridge Cancer Care, you will play a vital role in administering radiation therapy treatments to patients under the direct supervision of a radiation oncologist. Your accuracy and attention to detail will be paramount in positioning the beam of radiation to correspond with the designated tumor volume and delivering the prescribed dose.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver and record radiation therapy treatments accurately under the direction of a radiation oncologist and chief radiation therapist.
- Enter and maintain patient treatment parameters into the electronic medical record accurately.
- Participate in clinical instruction of newly hired therapists and students.
- Assist in maintaining patient appointment schedules and submitting correct billing information.
- Cut blocks accurately when applicable.
- Make custom molds accurately.
- Complete simple mu calculations accurately.
- Interpret computerized treatment plans accurately.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited radiation therapy technology program.
- Minimum 3 years' experience actively practicing as an RTT.
- ARRT certification required.
- Valid state license for radiation therapy.
Work Environment:
The work environment may include exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medical preparations, and other conditions common to an oncology/hematology clinic environment. Work will involve in-person interaction with co-workers and management and/or clients. Work may require minimal travel by automobile to office sites.
