Job Title: Marketing Communications Specialist

Turning Points is seeking a skilled Marketing Communications Specialist to join our team. This role will be instrumental in advancing our mission by developing and executing marketing strategies, managing our communications channels, and increasing public awareness and engagement.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing strategy to promote the organization's mission, programs, and services.
  • Design and produce marketing materials, including brochures, newsletters, flyers, and digital content.
  • Plan and execute online and offline campaigns, including email marketing, social media, and events.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure consistent messaging and branding across all platforms.
  • Manage all external communications, including press releases, media relations, and community outreach.
  • Maintain and grow the organization's social media presence on platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
  • Write, edit, and distribute newsletters, blog posts, and other content to engage stakeholders and the community.
  • Develop and manage relationships with media outlets, influencers, and community partners to increase visibility.
  • Create compelling content that tells the story of our organization and the people we serve.
  • Manage the organization's website, ensuring content is up-to-date, accurate, and engaging.
  • Produce multimedia content, including videos, photos, and infographics, to support marketing and communications efforts.
  • Track and analyze the effectiveness of marketing and communication efforts, providing regular reports to leadership.
  • Use data-driven insights to adjust strategies and improve outcomes.
  • Assist in planning and promoting fundraising events, community outreach programs, and other special events.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
  • 2-4 years of experience in marketing, communications, or a related role, preferably in a nonprofit setting.
  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Proficiency in digital marketing tools and platforms, including social media, email marketing, and content management systems.
  • Experience with graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite) and video editing tools.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Passion for social justice and a commitment to serving the homeless community.
