Job Summary

BayMark Health Services is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Part-Time Medical Director to join our team. As a key member of our medical staff, you will be responsible for providing medical leadership and direction to our addiction treatment programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Admit patients for methadone and buprenorphine treatment, ensuring a thorough understanding of their medical history and physical condition.
  • Provide medical coverage for absences, including vacations, attendance at addiction meetings, and personal absences.
  • Conduct comprehensive history and physical exams, documenting findings in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Enter orders for methadone dosing in the EMR or write buprenorphine prescriptions, ensuring accurate and timely documentation.
  • Collaborate with the Treatment Center Director, Counselors, and Dosing Nurses to monitor patient dosages and adjust treatment plans as needed.
  • Consult on high-risk patients and conduct annual medication reviews to ensure optimal treatment outcomes.
  • Rotate between Chatsworth and Blairsville locations, providing medical leadership and support to both sites.
  • Perform other related duties as determined by the supervisor.
Requirements
  • Must be licensed to practice medicine in the state of Georgia.
  • One year of experience in addiction medicine is required, with six months of primary care experience preferred.
  • Ability to interact compassionately with a diverse patient population.
  • Satisfactory drug screen and criminal background check.
