A travel nurse with Med Surg/Telemetry experience will provide high-quality patient care in a dynamic medical-surgical unit. This role requires expertise in administering medications, monitoring vital signs and heart rhythms, and collaborating with healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:Patient Assessment and Monitoring:
  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients, including evaluating vital signs and telemetry data.
  • Monitor and interpret telemetry readings to detect any irregularities in heart rate or rhythm.
  • Develop individualized care plans to promote recovery and wellness.
Medication Administration and Management:
  • Administer prescribed medications safely and effectively.
  • Monitor patients for side effects and report any issues to the physician or healthcare team.
  • Provide pain management interventions and adjust care based on patient response.
Telemetry and Cardiac Monitoring:
  • Monitor patients with telemetry units to assess cardiac health.
  • Assist in interpreting telemetry readings and document any irregularities.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot telemetry equipment to ensure proper function.
Wound Care and Post-Surgical Care:
  • Provide post-operative care for surgical patients, including monitoring incision sites and managing drains.
  • Perform dressing changes and educate patients on wound care instructions.
  • Administer treatments to prevent complications such as DVT or infections.
Patient Education:
  • Educate patients and families on disease management and medication regimens.
  • Offer guidance on managing chronic conditions such as hypertension or diabetes.
  • Provide education on fall prevention, nutrition, and activity restrictions.
Collaboration with Healthcare Team:
  • Work closely with physicians and other healthcare providers to implement patient care plans.
  • Participate in daily rounds to discuss patient progress and care needs.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide holistic care.
Emergency Response and Critical Care:
  • Respond promptly to medical emergencies, including cardiac arrests or respiratory distress.
  • Provide immediate interventions, including CPR or ACLS, as needed.
  • Manage patients experiencing acute changes in condition, escalating care if necessary.
Requirements:
  • RN licensure and current certification.
  • Experience in Med Surg/Telemetry nursing.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound judgments.
Salary:

The estimated salary for this position is $120,000 - $150,000 per year, based on a 36-hour workweek and tax-free stipend.
