  • Conduct thorough pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and complete necessary documentation.
  • Engage with customers and the public, addressing inquiries and reporting any issues to management.
  • Maintain cleanliness around the truck and collection area to uphold safety and customer satisfaction.
  • Keep accurate records of daily operations, including DOT logbooks and vehicle condition reports.
  • Skillfully maneuver the truck in tight spaces, utilizing mirrors for safe navigation.
  • Utilize maps and GPS technology to locate service addresses effectively.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations, including DOT and OSHA standards.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL), Class A or B required.
  • Minimum age of 21 years.
  • At least one year of commercial driving experience or a CDL school certificate.
  • Ability to meet safety-sensitive function criteria as per company standards.
  • Proven capability to operate the truck and related equipment safely.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Understanding of truck mechanics and basic maintenance requirements.
  • Ability to maneuver the vehicle in confined spaces with precision.
  • Skill in identifying hazardous waste materials.
  • Effective communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting documents and maps.
  • Capability to follow both verbal and written instructions accurately.
  • Willingness to adapt to changing circumstances and pursue continuous improvement.
  • Physical ability to lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds using proper techniques.
  • Coordination to manage multiple limbs while performing driving tasks.
  • Commitment to following all safety policies and procedures.

Physical and Mental Demands:

  • Ability to perform various physical activities, including standing, walking, and lifting.
  • Visual acuity for close and distant vision, as well as depth perception.
  • Capacity to regularly lift/move weights of varying degrees.
  • Driving may require prolonged periods of sitting.
  • Ability to work in loud environments.

Working Conditions:

  • Exposure to various weather conditions and outdoor environments.
  • Regularly working in high-traffic areas.
  • Potential exposure to loud noises and hazardous materials.
