We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our team as a Parent and Guardian Engagement Coordinator. This role will be responsible for administering and overseeing all aspects of Parent and Guardian Engagement, including budget management, program evaluations, community relations, and regular reporting to the Director of the College and Community Programs.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement effective strategies to engage parents and guardians in their children's education and community activities.
- Collaborate with community education partners to develop strong collaborative relationships and promote self-empowerment of those served through culturally relevant community education programs and events.
- Coordinate with academic departments at institutions of higher education to integrate community within academic coursework.
- Attend networking meetings, program meetings, and other pertinent community meetings to enhance professional development and partnerships.
- Manage data on attendance, activities, and results for class attendance, community events, and all workshops and activities.
- Implement all parent and guardian engagement operations, including lesson planning, planning workshops, advertising, translating, and outreach.
- Promote enrollment and participate in recruitment of parents and families.
- Translate informational materials pertaining to the program, including flyers, permission slips, newsletters, website, social media, etc.
- Supervise and hire students and/or interns to serve as staff and provide quality internship experiences in service-learning and community education.
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Experience working with high school students highly preferred.
- Must be organized and self-starting with outstanding written, oral, research, and analytical skills, and a willingness to learn quickly.
- Experience working with families/children. Preferred experience with Spanish-speaking families.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, work independently, and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Interest in learning to administer service-learning/community engagement programs and university/community partnerships within a higher education setting.
- Commitment to the mission of the liberal arts college and commitment to community engagement.
- Valid CA Driver's License.
- Proof of recent negative TB test.
- Background and Live Scan Clearance/Drug test (to be provided).
Tasks are regularly performed with moderate exposure to environmental conditions such as dirt, dust, pollen, odors, wetness, humidity, rain, fumes, and temperature and noise.
Physical demands include standing, walking, sitting, using hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reaching with hands and arms, climbing stairs, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling, talking or hearing, and tasting or smelling. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 20 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
