Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Speech Pathologist to join our team at Emory Healthcare. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive clinical speech pathology services to patients, including testing, analysis, and evaluation of complex medical problems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Formulate treatment plans consistent with patient needs and assure continuity of care through effective decision-making.
  • Deliver effective patient care based on collaborative clinical pathways and anticipate potential patient crises through continual evaluation of patient outcomes.
  • Delegate effectively and identify the need to develop or revise policies and procedures pertaining to specialized patient populations and/or department and hospital practices.
  • Participate in department orientation of new staff, mentor new staff and students, and monitor daily practices for consistency with established standards for patient care.
  • Assist with supervision of support staff and students, provide ongoing performance feedback, and address problems or orient and train employees.
  • Communicate regularly with members of the patient care team, the patient, family members, and others involved with the patient's care.
  • Assess and assist staff in assessing complex patient problems and provide direct patient care to complex patients, performing specialized treatments according to the patient's individualized plan of care.
  • Plan, develop, and implement a results-oriented treatment plan responsive to the individualized needs of the patient, including clear and measurable goals.
  • Collaborate with other members of the patient care team and utilize community resources to plan for the continued care, support, and follow-up of the patient after discharge.
Requirements
  • A master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Current licensure in Speech-Language Pathology in the state of Georgia.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology issued by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
  • One year of Speech-Language Pathology experience.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification in accordance with the American Heart Association.
