Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Paint Preparation Technician to join our team at Wastequip. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring that all surfaces are properly prepared for painting, adhering to strict quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Surface Inspection: Conduct thorough inspections of workpieces to identify defects and imperfections.
  • Abrasive Selection: Choose the appropriate abrasive wheel or disk based on specifications, knowledge of abrasives, and metal condition.
  • Grinding and Polishing: Operate grinders and polishers to remove scratches, laminated metal, excess weld material, and burs, resulting in a smooth, unmarred surface.
  • Tool Maintenance: Regularly replace worn abrasive disks and wheels to ensure optimal performance.

Qualifications

  • Education and Experience: Possess less than high school education or up to one month of related experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
