Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our team at DMC Harper University/Hutzel Women's Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. As a Radiologic Technologist - Vascular Interventionalist, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic interventional exams and working closely with radiologists to provide high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostic interventional exams using various imaging equipment, including CT scanners and fluoroscopy units.
  • Verify patient identity and review medical records to ensure exam appropriateness.
  • Interview patients to gather medical history and assess risk factors, such as medications and psychological indicators.
  • Explain procedures to patients, including potential side effects, risks, benefits, and alternatives.
  • Set up equipment and acquire images as per script, while adhering to established protocols.
  • Review images, document exceptions, and communicate data to radiologists.
  • Recognize and respond to medical emergencies accordingly.
  • Provide post-care instructions to patients and participate in process improvement activities within the radiology department.
Requirements
  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiology (RT) or Vascular-Interventional Radiography (VI).
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BLS) certification required by end of orientation period.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within 6 months of hire for employees working in adult settings or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within 1 year of hire for employees working in cardiology settings.
  • One or more years of experience as a Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in Radiology.
