We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at Merryweather Foam. As a key member of our manufacturing operations, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting shop machines and production equipment to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain and repair CNC operational equipment, including CNC systems, production test and assembly equipment, electrical/electronic systems, and facility/building systems and equipment.
- Perform advanced pneumatic/hydraulic repair, electrical/electronic component replacements, and elementary wiring.
- Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation, listening for problems, and using precision measuring and testing instruments.
- Maintain equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock, anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies, placing and expediting orders, and verifying receipt.
- Remove defective parts by dismantling devices, using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools, and examining form and texture of parts.
- Determine changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts and using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
- Control downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques and monitoring compliance.
- Fabricate new parts and repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment, including knee mills, lathes, and arc welding.
- Perform software/hardware modifications to machinery and controls to facilitate process workflow improvements or product changes.
- Order replacement parts and equipment for machines, within prescribed dollar limits, as necessary.
- Apply extensive and practical experience and knowledge base to develop alternative solutions to difficult and unusual machinery problems and assignments.
- Participate in continuous improvement events to increase process efficiency.
- Comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements by enforcing regulations.
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed and ensures compliance with all corporate guidelines & policies.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- High school graduate or equivalent. Vocational training or technical trade school is preferred.
- Strong mechanical abilities.
- Ability to calculate figures and dimensions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
