We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Surgical Technologist to join our team at HCA Florida Capital Hospital. As a key member of our surgical team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our operating rooms and providing exceptional patient care.

• Provide care to patients under the direction of the RN, utilizing the nursing process, in accordance with the philosophy, goals, and objectives of HCA Florida Capital Hospital.
• Demonstrate knowledge and application of sterile technique, instruments, and supplies needed for surgical cases.
• Communicate, interact, and participate in teamwork on the unit.
• Demonstrate knowledge and application of the nursing process.
• Participate and cooperate in the unit-based Quality Improvement processes.
• Maintain and practice quality patient care through effective use of resources and personnel.
• Serve as the patient and family advocate with respect to the patient's right to privacy by protecting confidential information.
• Follow established guidelines for reporting a significant medical error or unanticipated outcome in the patient's care which results in patient harm.
• Responsible for daily availability of supplies and equipment specific to specialty coordination with the OR Materials Coordinator, SPD Supervisor, CSS, and/or Director.
• Responsible for restocking and maintaining standard stock of supplies; coordinates ordering with OR Materials Coordinator or SPD Supervisor.
• Responsible for assuring physician preference cards are current in computer database.
• Maintain current knowledge base of changing equipment technologies, and techniques within their specialty area.
• Use Performance Improvement Plan to improve patient safety.

• Surg Tech Certificate required.
