Job Title: Server

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Server to join our team at NexDine Hospitality. As a Server, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a memorable dining experience for our guests.

Job Summary:

The Server will report to the Chef or Catering Manager and be responsible for the set-up/breakdown of catering events, serving customers, and providing exemplary service. Essential functions and key tasks include:

  • Serving food or beverages to customers and preparing or serving specialty dishes as required.
  • Taking orders from customers for food or beverages.
  • Explaining how various menu items are prepared, describing ingredients and cooking methods.
  • Ensuring customers are satisfied with all aspects of service and communicating with direct supervisor any customer service issues.
  • Collecting payments from customers.
  • Checking customers' identification to ensure that they meet minimum age requirements for consumption of alcoholic beverages.
  • Assisting with set-up/breakdown of all events.
  • Stocking service areas with supplies such as coffee, food, tableware, and linens as needed.
  • Performing cleaning duties as assigned, including but not limited to, sweeping and mopping floors, tidying up server station, clearing tables, and taking out trash.
  • Washing pots, pans, dishes, utensils, or other cooking equipment.
  • Assisting in supporting culinary staff at numerous stations as directed.
  • Providing excellent customer service to include being attentive, approachable, greeting, and thanking customers.
Work Environment:

This job operates in a kitchen environment where employees may be exposed to and/or required to operate equipment, including but not limited to, an oven, stove, dishwasher, slicer, coffee machine, steamer, mixer, and chef's knives. The employee is frequently exposed to heat, steam, fire, and noise.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee may be required to sit, reach, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, and push, pull, and lift items weighing 40 pounds or less. Employee may be required to stand for long periods of time. The position requires manual dexterity; auditory and visual skills; and the ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures.

Required Education and Experience:


• High school diploma or equivalent


• Previous experience in food service


• Previous customer service experience

Required Eligibility Qualifications:


• TIPS Alcohol Certification
