Position Overview:

Key Responsibilities:

This role is integral to the Slumberland finance and accounting team, collaborating with various organizational levels to promote cost efficiency, process enhancement, and financial accountability.

Your responsibilities will include ensuring timely and precise financial month-end closures and reporting, conducting business case modeling, optimizing processes, and delivering accurate financial planning for the organization.

You will lead cross-functional financial analysis initiatives, spearheading process improvements and optimization efforts aimed at achieving a premier finance and accounting team.


Essential Duties:

Core Functions:
Provide operational finance support to cross-functional teams.

Contribute significantly to the month-end closing process.

Identify and refine accounting and operational processes to foster automation and cost management.

Analyze month-end results, prepare reports, and deliver financial insights to management. Collaborate closely with the accounting team to comprehend significant month-end transactions.


Exhibit a genuine interest in exploring new functionalities and offering recommendations to cross-functional teams for process and procedure enhancements.

Examine trends in financial data and provide timely, relevant, and accurate reporting and analysis across functions. Understand key drivers in financial statements and communicate insights to management to support business decisions.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver precise quarterly forecasts.

Actively seek opportunities to enhance process efficiency and provide insights into non-value-added tasks while offering financial support.

Deliver insightful business partnership and thought leadership throughout the organization.

Independently identify and lead complex optimization projects, partnering with subject matter experts and business leaders to evaluate and implement solutions.

Proactively identify risks and opportunities in business operations, formulate recommendations, and effectively communicate them to the management team. Manage multiple projects to foster exceptional business partnerships across the organization.


Provide NetSuite administrative support, including report development and account structuring, while consistently seeking opportunities to maximize system output and establish best practices.

Maintain financial allocation methodologies to ensure departmental cost accuracy.

People Development:


Foster an environment that inspires passion in every employee regarding their work, their team, and the Slumberland brand, encouraging engagement in Slumberland's success and promoting a positive customer experience.


Communication and Leadership:
Utilize and support operational excellence tools: strategy A3's, work structure, tactical plans, meeting compass, and problem-solving documents.

Establish and maintain strong collaborative relationships with management, peers, and team members. Collaborate with other individuals and teams to complete tasks and facilitate improvement projects.

Manage vendor relationships through a defined meeting schedule and supplier scorecard.

Be visible and accessible to all teams and employees.

Provide consulting-level support to the franchise group.

Measurements and Reporting:
Actively engage in narrating the story behind results and communicating expectations.

Strive to explain why results were achieved, the drivers behind exceeding or missing plans, and the actions implemented to meet or surpass targets.

Proactively partner with business leaders to communicate and measure outcomes.

Knowledge & Education Requirements:
3+ years of professional experience in comparable financial roles.

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.

Advanced proficiency in Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data cleansing).

Preferred familiarity with NetSuite.

Physical Demands/Work Environment/Equipment:
Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and utilize senses such as vision, speech, and hearing.
