Job Description:

As a Pharmacy Technician at Walgreens, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and service. Our pharmacy technicians are the face of our company, interacting with customers and developing strong relationships with our patients.

This apprenticeship program provides a comprehensive training experience, guiding you in taking steps towards becoming a Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) Certified Pharmacy Technician. You will gain the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in the pharmacy care industry, including foundational and advanced knowledge, skills, and on-the-job experiences.

As a Pharmacy Technician, you will assist the pharmacist in the practice of pharmacy, under direct supervision. You will perform tasks such as processing prescriptions, handling customer transactions, and maintaining a clean and organized pharmacy environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist the pharmacist in the practice of pharmacy, under direct supervision
  • Process prescriptions, handle customer transactions, and maintain a clean and organized pharmacy environment
  • Develop strong relationships with customers and patients
  • Participate in ongoing training and education to improve skills and knowledge
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Pharmacy Manager or Staff Pharmacist
Requirements:
  • Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English
  • Prefer six months of experience in a retail environment
  • Prefer prior work experience with Walgreens
  • Prefer good math skills and computer skills
  • Prefer knowledge of store inventory control
  • Prefer PTCB certification
