Organization: CHOC Rutherford County Clinics

Position Overview: This role involves assisting licensed healthcare professionals in delivering patient care, which includes direct patient interactions, providing health information to patients and families, and adhering to established care plans. The position requires close collaboration with registered nurses or licensed healthcare team members to assess and evaluate the patient's care plan and progress towards health goals. All patient care activities are performed under the guidance of a licensed professional in accordance with VUMC standards and regulatory requirements.

Clinic Schedule:
Monday - Friday 7:30 am - 5:00 pm
Closed for recognized holidays.
Staff must arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the first patient appointment and remain until the last patient is seen.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare providers in delivering health services.
  • Work alongside the healthcare team by adhering to established care plans to ensure effective patient outcomes.
  • Support initiatives that promote health and maintain a safe environment.
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
Technical Skills:
  • Clinical Patient Documentation (Novice): Demonstrates fundamental proficiency in patient documentation in practical applications of moderate complexity, generally working under supervision.
  • LPN Patient Education (Novice): Shows fundamental proficiency in patient education within practical applications of moderate complexity, typically under the direction of others.
  • LPN Care Planning (Novice): Engages in developing care plans in consultation with licensed healthcare professionals, demonstrating the ability to anticipate resource needs and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Clinical Competency (Novice): Exhibits basic proficiency in nursing interventions such as wound care and vital signs monitoring, generally under supervision.
