Job Overview

Armed Services YMCA of The U S A is seeking a qualified Program Facilitator to join our team. As a Program Facilitator, you will be responsible for designing and implementing daily curriculum/lesson plans for program participants, interacting with children using appropriate preschool-aged development techniques, and ensuring a healthy classroom environment.

Responsibilities
  • Design and implement daily curriculum/lesson plans for program participants.
  • Interact with children using appropriate preschool-aged development techniques.
  • Ensure a healthy classroom environment, including maintaining appropriate hygiene and cleanliness standards and safety and security of children.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement program activities and events.
  • Provide volunteers with orientation, training, development, and recognition when assigned to programs under your direction.
Requirements
  • At least 6 months of experience working with children ages 6 months through 5 years.
  • Associates degree required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Prior experience working with children required.
  • 2+ years' experience working with children in a group setting preferred.
  • CPR and First Aid certification required within 15 days of hire.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in writing reports and lesson plans.
  • Able to identify and respond properly to various childcare situations.
  • Able to work after school hours.
  • Able to present a professional and positive demeanor.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record required.
  • Able to successfully pass a criminal history background check.
