Collin County Government is currently seeking a Chief Forensic Pathologist to lead its Medical Examiner's Office. This position offers a unique opportunity to work in one of the fastest-growing counties in the United States, known for its high quality of life and strong community values.

The Medical Examiner's Office is fully accredited and staffed with a team of experienced professionals, including two pathologists, administrative personnel, and forensic investigators. The office is preparing to transition into a new, state-of-the-art facility, with significant input expected from the successful candidate regarding its design.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee administrative functions and conduct postmortem examinations.
  • Provide expert testimony in court and manage the issuance of cremation permits.
  • Review daily case reports and ensure effective leadership within the office.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess an MD or DO degree, board certification in anatomic and forensic pathology, and medical licensure in Texas or the ability to obtain it. Previous experience in a forensic environment is essential.

Compensation and Benefits:

The salary for this position is negotiable, with annual increases based on performance evaluations. The benefits package includes comprehensive medical and dental coverage, vacation and personal leave, educational allowances, disability options, and participation in the Texas County and District Retirement System.
