The Float Registered Nurse is a licensed professional who is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care. This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations. The Float Registered Nurse will be assigned to a specific clinic on their scheduled day(s) of work, with clinic location/assignment changing daily/weekly based on staffing needs across Faith Regional Physician Services.
Responsibilities:
Assess, prioritize, formulate, implement, evaluate, and adapt the interdisciplinary plan of care to meet the patient's age-specific needs.
Provide information and involves family/caregiver in decision making as appropriate.
Use population-specific knowledge to appropriately modify approach and procedures to meet the needs of age groups served.
Consistently and skillfully perform and documents physical screening and tests, including but not limited to, EKG, auditory, glucometer, collection of cultures, venipunctures, urine testing, and TB testing.
Assist the Physician with biopsies, cystoscopies, CMG's, cast application and removal, injections, and other procedures as directed.
Schedule surgery and obtain appropriate insurance authorizations for surgery and tests.
Order supplies for the clinic.
Clean and process clinic instruments and equipment.
Requirements:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required.
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license or temporary permit from the State of Nebraska required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) obtained within one full month from date of hire required.
Previous clinical experience preferred.
Working Conditions:
The Float Registered Nurse will work in a clinic setting, with the ability to work a flexible schedule, including after-hours and weekends as necessary. The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations is essential for this role.
