About the Unit:
- The unit focuses on diagnosing and treating various medical conditions, including chest pain, syncope, COPD exacerbation, pneumonia, TIA, UTI, AKI, dizziness & peripheral vertigo, ESRD and missed dialysis, cellulitis, and intractable nausea and vomiting.
- A plan of care focused on discharging patients safely within 24 hours, utilizing protocolized care pathways.
- Nurse autonomy in facilitating care plans with support from Charge Nurses and Throughput Nurses.
- Designated provider teams (MDs/APPs) available with Care Management support.
Job Summary:
As a member of the patient care team, the Registered Nurse provides safe, age-appropriate patient care and functions as an advisor and resource for patients and their families.
Responsibilities:
- To characterize the nurse's ability to utilize clinical reasoning, including clinical decision-making, resource utilization, synthesis thinking coupled with nursing skills acquired through situational learning and evidence-based practice.
- To involve and incorporate input from multiple sources to benefit family and community.
- To characterize the nurse as a creative educator with the ability to address individual and collective intellectual and psychomotor needs.
- To utilize new knowledge, innovative reasoning, and improvement, as well as make thoughtful decisions based on contemporary evidence and research.
Requirements:
- Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
- Valid RN License in the State of Maryland or Compact License (as applicable).
- Current BLS Certification from the American Heart Association.
