Job Title: Environmental Scientist

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated Environmental Scientist to join our team in the Department of Fish and Wildlife. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting surveys and restoration activities in remote wilderness areas, identifying and managing invasive fish populations, and developing expertise in fisheries and herpetology science and management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct surveys and restoration activities in remote wilderness areas
  • Identify and manage invasive fish populations
  • Develop expertise in fisheries and herpetology science and management
  • Design, implement, and monitor habitat restoration projects
  • Analyze data and write scientific reports

Working Conditions: The successful candidate will be required to work in remote wilderness areas, hiking, camping, and operating 4-wheel drive vehicles. Overnight travel, including backpacking and car camping, will be required.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in environmental science, biology, or a related field
  • Experience in fisheries and herpetology science and management
  • Ability to work in remote wilderness areas
  • Ability to hike, camp, and operate 4-wheel drive vehicles
