Civil Project Manager Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Civil Project Manager to join our team at The Christman Company. As a Civil Project Manager, you will be responsible for providing overall leadership of civil and concrete projects, ensuring the successful delivery of projects on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Forecast project cost to completion and project gross profit for each monthly close
  • Coordinate directly with Chief of Civil/Concrete Estimating for estimate and bid support
  • Project planning, including conceiving of civil and concrete means/methods, schedules, change order time and costs, and coordinating subcontractors
  • Determine subcontractor/vendor buyout, commitments, and scope execution
  • Develop project budgets based on current estimates and proposals
  • Approve vendor and subcontractor invoices
  • Develop Schedule of Values (SOV), Owner invoices, and ensure timely Owner payments
  • Estimate and quote extra work and document changes, ensuring extras are loaded into Viewpoint/logs and track/act on Owner contract changes
  • Ensure that project controls such as safety forms, work plans, submittals, RFI's, logs, and documents are organized, submitted, closed, and complete
  • Work with project team to develop project and look-ahead schedules, providing periodic review of schedules to ensure milestone dates are met and schedule delays are documented
  • Communicate project goals with field leadership and coordinate planning effort
  • Draft and submit project correspondence to document risk-related issues such as delays, claims, extra work, and safety hazards
  • Ensure that safety goals are achieved for applicable projects, identify safe work practices, and areas for improvement
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
  • Minimum five years of relevant work experience in the construction industry
  • OR equivalent combination of the above education, training, and experience
