Position Overview:
The Technician role is available in both full-time and part-time capacities, compensated hourly based on business requirements.
The primary responsibility of the Technician is to conduct basic vehicle diagnostics and perform routine maintenance and repair services in line with company standards and manufacturer specifications.
This position demands exceptional service delivery, effective communication regarding vehicle issues, and consistent fulfillment of customer expectations regarding time and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct basic vehicle diagnostics to accurately identify necessary repairs.
- Complete Monro's Courtesy Inspection process for every vehicle, documenting and communicating additional required services and repairs; oversee courtesy inspections performed by General Service Technicians.
- Assist in managing inventory, including pulling tires and parts, and stocking inventory.- Support all general store operations, ensuring the facility is clean and maintained to Monro standards.
- Adhere to Monro's safety standards while performing services, including compliance with Wheel Torque and Oil safety procedures.
- Test drive vehicles following Monro's Road Test policy, using designated routes while obeying local traffic laws.
- Understand and comply with company policies, governmental regulations, and safety standards, including ANSI/OSHA requirements.- Maintain technical knowledge through timely completion of Monro University training courses.
- Safely operate and maintain all equipment according to Monro and manufacturer guidelines.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.Candidate Profile:
- Capable of executing basic automotive maintenance, repair, and tire services.
- Ability to diagnose issues, identify root causes, and determine appropriate repair solutions.
- Proficient in interpreting and executing instructions in various formats.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey technical issues effectively.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
This position operates in an automotive shop environment, with exposure to moderate noise levels, chemicals, and varying weather conditions.
Technicians must be able to:
- Work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Lift and carry items up to 75 lbs without assistance.
- Stand and walk for extended periods.
- Reach overhead and below the knees, including squatting and bending.

Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Automotive training in basic maintenance and repair or equivalent experience.
- ASE certification and State Inspection license preferred.
- Valid driver's license with a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report (MVR).
- Required to possess a basic set of tools or participate in Monro's tool purchase program.
