The Walsh Group is currently seeking an Infrastructure Maintenance Specialist to oversee maintenance operations for various roadway assets. This role involves performing essential field repairs and maintenance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and specifications.

As a Maintenance Specialist, you will be responsible for the upkeep of critical roadway components, including drainage systems, paved surfaces, guardrails, vegetation, lighting, and signage. You will also be expected to respond to emergencies outside of regular business hours, demonstrating professionalism and respect in all interactions.

Responsibilities:

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:


Establishing safe Maintenance of Traffic (M.O.T) protocols by setting up and removing traffic control devices such as cones, message boards, and temporary signage.

Utilizing bucket trucks, scaffolding, ladders, and aerial platforms to perform maintenance tasks safely.

Applying technical knowledge to repair and maintain roadway surfaces and associated components effectively.

Utilizing mechanical equipment, power tools, and hand tools to ensure the functionality of roadway systems.

Assisting various crews and operating specialized vehicles and trailers on work sites.

Being available for emergency response rotations, including overtime, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Supporting the preparation of third-party claims and incident reports, identifying issues, and reporting findings to supervisors.

Conducting daily inspections of pavements, signs, guardrails, and other contract requirements, and reporting observations to supervisors.

Analyzing work needs based on condition assessments and performance requirements.


Qualifications:

3+ years of experience in roadway maintenance or related fields is preferred.

A valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record is required.

Good manual dexterity is necessary, with the ability to stand, bend, kneel, or sit for extended periods, and lift up to 50 lbs.

Must pass a pre-employment drug screening.

Highly desirable qualifications include:

  • Commercial Driver License (CDL)
  • Commercial Pesticide Applicators License for Vegetation Management
  • Intermediate or Advanced Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) certification
  • Experience in heavy equipment operation
  • Concrete forming experience
  • DOT certifications in concrete, asphalt, soils, and compaction & inspection
