Position Overview

The Executive Director is a key role in the 1847Financial firm responsible for providing a full range of recruiting expertise, financial professional support, and leadership to drive profitable growth.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the Managing Principal with management and business operations of the firm, potentially leading a satellite location.
  • Become and remain well-versed in Penn Mutual life and annuity products, as well as applicable illustration software.
  • Become and remain well-versed in the HTK platform and applicable financial planning software.
  • Maintain necessary insurance licenses and the appropriate designation as a general securities representative through FINRA.
  • Recruit, select, and mentor affiliated financial professionals to grow sales, assisting in the transition of new professionals and providing guidance and support.
  • Develop and achieve annual recruiting and sales goals, subject to review and approval of the Home Office.
  • Assist the Managing Principal in maintaining firm records in accordance with rules and regulations of Penn Mutual, subject to inspection by the Home Office. All records are the property of Penn Mutual.
  • Provide a line of communication between the Penn Mutual Home Office and financial professionals associated with the firm, including those recruited by the Executive Director.
  • Comply with all applicable governmental requirements affecting the Manager, office staff, and financial professionals associated with the Executive Director.
  • Notify the Home Office of Penn Mutual immediately of circumstances that could give rise to legal proceedings on behalf of or against Penn Mutual.
  • Understand and agree that the Executive Director shall undertake the sale of any Penn Mutual product with variable accumulation and benefit provisions only where registered with FINRA as a representative of HTK. No compensation shall be payable to the Executive Director for the sale of any variable product absent compliance with this subsection.
  • Perform other supervisory duties assigned by the Managing Principal.
  • Act in full compliance with all laws and regulations applicable to the business.
  • Ensure the firm's and Penn Mutual, 1847Financial, and HTK brand guidelines are consistently met.
  • Support firm community involvement and sponsorship activities.
  • Play a lead role in the development and administration of sales contests.
Skills and Abilities
  • Achieves Results. Demonstrates the ability to help financial professionals achieve strong business results by assisting with business plans and tracking/reporting of performance results.
  • Communication and Writing Skills. Possesses strong written and verbal communication skills, demonstrating strong creative writing skills, presentation skills, and knowledge of AP style guidelines.
  • Business Acumen. Has a working knowledge of life and annuity products, as well as a solid understanding of the financial professional role and how an agency operates.
  • Firm Strategy. Demonstrates a solid understanding of the overall business strategy of the firm to execute plans to help move the business forward.
  • Relationship Building and Collaboration. Engages senior firm leadership and collaborates with others to drive marketing programs, building trust, credibility, and demonstrating strong self-confidence and leadership qualities.
  • Influence. Influences financial professionals to help drive the agency strategy, marketing campaigns, and community relations initiatives.
  • Customer Service Orientation. Possesses superior customer service skills by understanding and anticipating customer needs, adapting approach to different customer groups and requirements.
  • Creativity. Uses original and innovative approaches to messaging and marketing programs and events.
  • Negotiation. Negotiates with senior leadership and vendors regarding marketing priorities, vendor agreements, and resources to maintain focus on marketing strategy.
Education
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or Marketing preferred or equivalent work experience.
Experience
  • 3-5 Years Experience in a similar role Required.
  • Life Insurance industry experience a strong plus Required.
  • Solid technical understanding of life and annuity products and sales concepts, technology, related tax laws, and state regulations. Knowledge of the business units and operations of Penn Mutual and the retail sales process of financial professionals and marketing campaigns. Required.
Licenses
  • FINRA Series 7 Upon Hire Required.
  • FINRA Series 63 Upon Hire Required.
  • FINRA Series 66 Upon Hire Required.
  • State Life Insurance License Upon Hire Required.

Base Salary of $75,000, in addition to monthly overrides.
