At the Good Samaritan Society, we are dedicated to providing quality care and service in a Christian environment. Our skilled nursing facility in Waconia, Minnesota, is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our nursing team on a part-time, night shift basis.

Job Summary

The Nursing Assistant (NA) serves as a caregiver to residents during the scheduled work period in long-term care. Provides resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance to assigned residents under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN). The NA is expected to know and follow infection prevention and control policies and use Personal Protective Equipment appropriately.

Responsibilities
  • Provides assistance with daily living activities, including bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing/undressing, and obtaining and recording vital signs.
  • Assists residents with meals and snacks, provides water and supplements as needed.
  • Aids providers and nursing staff members with procedures, if needed.
  • Documents resident interactions and outcomes related to resident care, behavior, activity, and dietary.
  • Communicates resident's changing condition and care-related concerns/responses to the charge nurse.
Requirements
  • High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred, but not required.
  • Minimum age of 16. Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
  • Required Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing, or state certified CNA within four months of date into the position by being enrolled in a training program or in the process of obtaining certification through Endorsement.
