Job Summary:
The National Youth Advocate Program (NYAP) is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Bilingual Clinician to join our team. As a Clinician, you will work with children who are fleeing their country of origin and arrive in the US without a parent or legal guardian. Your primary responsibility will be to provide culturally appropriate, trauma-informed, comprehensive services to these children, ensuring their safety and well-being.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct mental health assessments and provide individual and group counseling services to children in care.
- Screen for trauma, human trafficking, and crisis intervention services, and provide necessary support.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including clinicians, case managers, and medical staff, to maintain a therapeutic environment and establish treatment goals.
- Develop and implement individualized service plans, ensuring consistent progress and success.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with assigned foster parents, providing ongoing support and guidance.
- Provide crisis intervention services, including safety assessments and behavioral stabilization.
- Monitor the mental well-being of children in care, arranging for external specialized services as needed.
- Collaborate with other staff and stakeholders to utilize a child welfare best practice approach within a trauma-informed framework.
- Master's degree in social work with clinical experience in the program.
- Must be licensed based on State requirements.
- Must have a valid driver's license, reliable transportation, automotive insurance, and a good driving record.
- Bilingual English/Spanish fluency.
- Proficient use of desktop and laptop computers, internet search, people management programs, smart phones and tablets, printers, fax machines and photocopiers as well as software including word processing, spreadsheet and database programs.
