Patient Care Technician

As a Patient Care Technician at Baptist Memorial Healthcare Corporation, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support services under the direction of our professional registered nurses. Your primary responsibility will be to facilitate a caring relationship that promotes health, healing, and patient autonomy.
Key Responsibilities- Communicate and collaborate with registered nurses to ensure seamless patient care.
- Perform patient care tasks, including vital signs, blood glucose testing, phlebotomy, and electrode placement, under the direction of the RN.
- Provide basic patient care services, such as height and weight measurements, intake and output tracking, and equipment retrieval, under the direction of the RN.
- Maintain a safe and comfortable environment for patients, including clutter-free rooms and quiet surroundings.
- Support patient and family communication needs, including answering call lights and orienting new patients to the room.
- Assist with patient mobility, safety rounds, and 4Ps to promote patient safety.
- Provide comfort measures, such as water, ice, cups, pillows, and blankets, and assist with meals.
- Transport non-monitored patients and assist RNs with monitored and/or intubated transports.
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Minimum 1 year recent experience (within the past 6 months).
- CNA Program/Certification or AEMT/Paramedic Licensure/Certification or MA Program/Certification.
- BLS Certification within 14 days of hire.
