Cheese Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as a Cheese Specialist. As a key member of our deli department, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, maintaining a clean and organized store environment, and ensuring that our cheese selection is always fresh and appealing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and display a wide variety of cheeses and accompaniments, including preserves, honey, charcuterie, and crackers.
• Provide excellent customer service, including answering questions, making recommendations, and educating customers about our cheese selection.
• Maintain a clean and organized store environment, including the deli department and surrounding areas.
• Monitor and control inventory levels, including ordering and receiving shipments, to ensure that we have the correct products on hand.
• Assist with visual merchandising, including creating displays and arranging products to attract customers.
• Participate in store events and demonstrations, including wine and cheese tastings.
• Stay up-to-date on food trends and new products, including cheese and other deli items.

Requirements:

• 2-3 years of experience in the food industry, preferably in a deli or cheese-related role.
• ACS Certified Cheese Professional or willingness to become certified.
• Culinary training, including wine and food pairing.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including written, verbal, and listening skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask.
• Proficient computer skills, including Excel, Word, and email.
