Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Special Procedures Technologist 2 to join our team at the University of Miami UHealth System, Department of Radiology. As a key member of our Interventional Radiology team, you will be responsible for assisting with the day-to-day operations and complex procedures in Interventional Radiology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with the operation of radiographic equipment to obtain high-quality diagnostic images with minimal radiation exposure.
  • Perform complex specialized tasks associated with the operation of Radiology scanners and related equipment in accordance with prescribed radiation safety procedures.
  • Coordinate and manage scheduling and patient flow for interdepartmental procedures.
  • Supervise and perform diagnostic imaging studies under the direction of a radiologist, using age-appropriate standards of practice.
  • Assist radiologists and PhDs in developing new protocols and ultrasound imaging techniques.
  • Participate in research initiatives and development of research protocols.
  • Act as a team leader and provide education and training to new physicians and technologists.
  • Monitor charging of ultrasound procedures and supplies daily to ensure correctness.
  • Provide in-service classes in the section and demonstrate ultrasound equipment for site visits.
  • Obtain and examine orders for Interventional Radiology exams to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Verify patient identity and obtain necessary consents and education.
  • Perform CPR as needed and maintain a clean and sanitary work environment.
  • Provide on-call coverage and report unusual findings to appropriate personnel.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology/Diagnostic Imaging Program.
  • Valid State of Florida License as a General Radiographer.
  • ARRT registered and certified in Vascular Interventional Radiography.
  • CPR and BLS certification required.
  • Three years of relevant experience required.
