Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled Veterinary Technician to join our team at our Keller location. As a Veterinary Technician, you will play a vital role in maintaining excellent patient care and operational productivity by assisting the Veterinarian in their daily tasks.
Key Responsibilities- Assist Veterinarians in preparing patients for surgery, administering anesthesia, taking x-rays, and gathering lab specimens.
- Monitor patients post-op and restrain animals during exams.
- Obtain samples for testing, including stool, blood, and other specimens.
- Test samples and help interpret results.
- Administer medications, vaccines, and other treatments as prescribed by the Veterinarian.
- Communicate with clients to obtain medical information and provide instructions on animal care.
- Assist the Client Service Specialist team as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 18 years of age at the time of hire.
- At least 1 year of veterinary industry experience.
- Ability to properly restrain animals and understand veterinary medical terminology.
- Knowledge of medication and ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Frequent standing, bending, walking, lifting, carrying, and reaching.
- Strong organizational skills and excellent communication and listening skills.
