Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Tanker Driver to join our team at Milk Specialties Global. As a key member of our transportation team, you will be responsible for safely transporting our products to various facilities from our Fond du Lac, WI plant.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transport products locally according to manifest in a safe and responsible manner, adhering to company procedures and applicable DOT regulations.
  • Perform yard movements as needed, ensuring warehouse has trailers to load and unload.
  • Apply knowledge and abilities to safely load and unload deliveries according to size of load and content description.
  • Process shipment documents neatly and efficiently for each shipment and manage documentation discrepancies.
  • Obtain and maintain proper delivery authorization and pickup documentation, submitting in a timely manner.
  • Provide good customer service and maintain a professional manner and appearance to enhance the company's image.
  • Perform daily DOT pre-trip inspections according to checklist and keep an accurate copy in the vehicle at all times.
  • Maintain company gas credit cards, valid/current proof of insurance, and registration in vehicle.
  • Maneuver and control the vehicle in a safe fashion, handling the vehicle on-site and in over-the-road situations, proper signaling, searching for hazards, controlling speed, lane positioning, matching speeds to road conditions, and driving during the daytime and nighttime.
  • Responsible for routine fueling, lubricating, cleaning of vehicle, and maintaining minor emergency vehicle repairs.
  • Report vehicle malfunctions to management to schedule repairs and maintenance to vehicle.
  • Recognize and adhere to all site loading and unloading PPE requirements as applicable in each situation.
  • Maintain good working relationships with loading and unloading personnel at MSG and supplier loading/unloading stations.
  • Possess knowledge of weight laws, safety regulations, and other federal regulations.
  • Ensure all loads are properly sealed after loading is completed.
  • All company drivers are expected to learn and abide by supplier and customer site-specific safety rules as conditions warrant.
  • Perform post-trip inspections as required.
Requirements
  • Candidates must be at least 21 years of age, as this is a DOT-covered position.
  • 2 or more years of Class A driving experience.
  • A safe driving record.
  • Current valid commercial driver's license with tanker endorsement.
