About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced veterinarian to oversee and perform veterinary procedures that support all studies at our Safety Assessment site. This position will also oversee all aspects of the animal care and use program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage health care for the animals within the facility.
  • Perform veterinary rounds as scheduled and provide clinical care and preventive medicine support.
  • Develop and deliver training for staff on veterinary diagnostics, techniques, and minor surgical procedures.
  • Provide animal health care guidance for veterinary services personnel as required.
  • Participate in the response to internal/external inspections and quality assurance audits of veterinary or animal welfare type content.
  • Support activities of the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC), including protocol review, program review, and facility inspections.

Requirements:

  • Veterinary degree (D.V.M./V.M.D.) or international equivalent required.
  • Licensure to practice veterinary medicine in at least 1 U.S. state required.
  • Computer literacy, good communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Preferred: Ability to practice veterinary medicine in the work state, ACLAM eligibility or accreditation, minimum 3 years experience in laboratory animal medicine, and 2 years management experience.
