Camp Nurse

The YMCA of the Triangle Area is seeking a qualified Camp Nurse to join our team for the summer season. As a Camp Nurse, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of our campers and staff.

• Assist the Head Nurse in the general operation of the Health Center, focusing on the medical care and well-being of our campers and staff.
• Manage medications, administer prescribed dosages, and maintain accurate records.
• Develop a collaborative working relationship with a team of nurses and volunteer physicians to create a comprehensive support system for the camp community.
• Participate in sick call, assist with medication administration, and accompany campers or staff to medical appointments as needed.
• Maintain accurate medical charts, document visits, and communicate effectively with parents and staff.
• Respond to urgent care needs, complete incident reports, and maintain a clean and safe Health Center environment.

• Minimum of 1-3 years of experience as a Registered Nurse, with a North Carolina Nursing License or equivalent.
• Active CPR certification and strong assessment skills.
• Ability to adapt to different environments, work effectively in a team, and communicate clearly with diverse groups.
• Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills.

The Camp Nurse will work in a fast-paced environment, frequently standing, sitting, and moving around the Health Center and camp grounds. The ability to lift up to 40 pounds and maintain a moderate noise level is required.
