Job Overview

At Wegmans Food Markets, we're committed to delivering exceptional customer experiences. As a Cashier, you'll play a vital role in ensuring our customers leave the store with a positive impression. Your primary responsibility will be to provide proactive, friendly, and personalized service to customers in both traditional checkout and self-checkout lanes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engage customers in friendly conversation, making eye contact and smiling, while proactively offering additional assistance and thanking customers for shopping at Wegmans.
  • Efficiently and accurately scan items and process payments when on the register.
  • Properly bag items to ensure products arrive at their destination in the condition they left the store.
  • Manage traffic flow, direct customers to available lanes, ensure the lanes are in good working order, and assist customers with system troubleshooting when in the self-checkout area.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked workspace.
