Key Responsibilities
  • Academic Support: Assist children with homework assignments, special projects, and tutoring in core subjects, fostering a love for learning and academic growth.
  • Transportation and Safety: Safely transport students to and from tutoring programs in agency vehicles, ensuring their well-being and safety at all times.
  • Communication and Case Management: Communicate effectively with parents, schools, and other stakeholders, maintaining accurate case notes, education plans, and administrative duties.
  • Environment and Behavior: Create a safe, fun, and nurturing environment, adhering to agency rules and policies, and modeling positive behavior at all times.
  • Enrichment Activities: Plan, participate, and engage children in various enrichment activities, promoting their social, emotional, and cognitive development.
  • Child Concerns and Reporting: Identify and report child concerns and issues to the Education Advocate and/or Senior Manager of Education, ensuring prompt attention and support.
  • Facilities Maintenance: Organize, clean, and sanitize children's spaces, and assist with regular facilities upkeep, maintaining a clean and healthy environment.
  • Discipline and Redirection: Practice healthy and appropriate methods of discipline and redirection, promoting positive behavior and self-regulation.
  • Administrative Tasks: Assist with education documentation, data reporting, and other administrative duties as requested.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: High School diploma or GED with at least one year of experience working with school-aged children.
  • Valid Drivers License: A valid drivers license with a clean driving record is required.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift at least 50 pounds, climb stairs, bend, crouch, crawl, stoop, run, and swim.
  • Visual Acuity: Sufficient visual acuity to safely operate agency vehicles.
  • Driving Record: Valid drivers license with no more than three minor driving violations and/or accidents combined within the last three years, and no major moving violations in the past five years.
