Job Overview

Position Summary:

The Speech Language Pathologist is responsible for the prevention, assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of disorders related to speech, language, social communication, cognitive communication, and swallowing in both pediatric and adult populations.

Supervisory Duties:

  • No supervisory responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct evaluations and diagnose various speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders.
  • Design and implement tailored treatment plans.
  • Provide guidance and support to patients and their families regarding assessment results and suggested treatment pathways.
  • Establish clear patient understanding, expectations, and treatment objectives.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and reporting for all patient interactions.
  • Ensure effective communication with staff and external agencies in accordance with state regulations.
  • Collaborate with professionals from diverse disciplines.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Understanding of Medicaid, Medicare, and various private insurance plans.
  • Familiarity with a range of speech and cognitive disorders.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Basic proficiency in computer applications.
  • Commitment to adhering to all regulatory standards.

Educational Background and Experience:

  • Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology or a related discipline.
  • Current Montana SLP license.
  • 1-3 years of experience in speech language pathology.
  • ASHA certification is preferred.
  • BLS certification required.

Physical Demands:

  • Extended periods of sitting while working at a desk and utilizing a computer.
  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.
