The Department Chair is the spokesperson for a dynamic and diverse faculty, working closely with an advisory board of business professionals to drive the department's vision and goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Recruit and support students and faculty to achieve academic excellence
  • Oversee departmental teaching, research, and service activities
  • Manage resources, including fundraising and friend-raising efforts

The Department of Marketing is one of four departments in the College of Business at Illinois State University, offering nationally recognized educational programs in Marketing.

Programs Offered
  • B.S. in Marketing (with sequences in Advanced Marketing Analytics, Integrated Marketing Communication, and Professional Sales)
  • M.S. in Marketing Analytics
  • B.S. and M.S. in Business Education

The department enrolls approximately 900 undergraduate and graduate students, with a faculty of 30 tenured/tenure-track members, instructional assistant professors, and staff.

Requirements
  • Doctorate in Marketing (or equivalent)
  • Academic achievements in scholarship and teaching that merit appointment with tenure at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor
  • Established record of successful teaching, significant intellectual contributions, and university service
  • Must be able to demonstrate oral proficiency in the English language
Preferred Qualifications
  • Doctorate from an AACSB accredited university
  • Familiarity with business AACSB accreditation standards and processes
  • Prior administrative experience
