About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Cook to join our team at Heatherwood Rehabilitation & Health Care Center in Newport. As a Cook, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality food service to our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook a variety of foods in large quantities to meet the dietary needs of our residents.
  • Follow therapeutic diets ordered by physicians and ensure proper serving temperatures.
  • Maintain the visual appeal of food and monitor daily nourishments.
  • Adhere to sanitation and storage policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.
Requirements
  • One year of dietary experience in a hospital, skilled nursing care facility, or other related medical facility.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • Ability to make independent decisions and deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, and the general public.
  • Knowledge of dining service procedures and related laws, regulations, and guidelines.
  • Leadership ability and willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise professional and non-professional personnel.
