Job Title: Histology Laboratory Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Histology Laboratory Specialist to join our team at DHR Health. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for performing gynecological and non-gynecological cytology testing using advanced technologies. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring the accuracy and quality of our test results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform histology tasks, including processing, embedding, cutting, and staining of tissue samples.
  • Evaluate and interpret test results to identify inconsistencies and troubleshoot issues.
  • Maintain the upkeep of laboratory equipment and ensure the integrity, quality control, and functionality of all instruments.
  • Collaborate with laboratory personnel to ensure seamless testing and reporting processes.

Requirements:

  • Current certification as a Histology Technician (HT) or Histotechnologist (HLT) credentialed by the American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP).
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience as a Histology Technician 1 or equivalent.
  • Graduate from an associate's or bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences/Technology.
  • Experience working in a high-volume histology laboratory and within a team environment.

Working Conditions:

The Histology Laboratory Specialist will spend over 95% of their time in an air-conditioned environment with varying exposures to noise. The position has low exposure to malodorous, infectious body fluids from patients and some minimal exposure to noxious smells from cleansing agents.
