Financial Analyst

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Specialist to join our team at Staffworks CNY. As an Accounting Specialist, you will be responsible for compiling, processing, reviewing, and recording all aspects of payables and receivables.

The successful candidate will have experience in positively interacting with the general public, performing accounting analysis and reporting activities, and using office record keeping and filing systems and procedures.

This is a full-time position working Monday through Friday from 8am to 4:30pm with a 1/2 unpaid lunch break.

The salary for this position is approximately $18.00 per hour, based on the location in Utica, NY.

• Compile, process, review, and record all aspects of payables and receivables
• Compile, post, and reconcile daily cash receipts
• Review and balance monthly general ledger accounts
• Prepare bank reconciliations of multiple bank accounts
• Prepare and post monthly journal entries
• Perform data entry of pertinent information into Excel spreadsheets
• Prepare, process, review, and record client and/or accounting information
• Complete and/or review client or vendor financial information
• Verify client insurance or certification coverage and limitations
• Review documents to verify the accuracy and validity of figures, calculations, and adherence to prescribed criteria
• Answer applicable questions about accounting activities, transactions, and procedures
• Process necessary paperwork within required timeframes

• An Associate's Degree in Accounting or closely related field with two years' related accounting experience in a public agency or private business is required OR a High School diploma/Equivalency and four years' of related accounting experience in a public agency or private business is required
