Job Summary:The successful candidate will be responsible for providing advanced vocational nursing care to individuals residing at the San Antonio Hospital. This will include performing basic and advanced routine and non-routine nursing tasks, collecting specimens for lab work, and instructing direct support professionals on how to provide service and care that support the individual's medical needs.
Responsibilities:- Provide advanced vocational nursing care to individuals residing at the San Antonio Hospital.
- Perform basic and advanced routine and non-routine nursing tasks.
- Collect specimens for lab work and perform health screenings.
- Instruct direct support professionals on how to provide service and care that support the individual's medical needs.
- Monitor and oversee the work of LVNs and assign work to LVNs as needed.
- Evaluate nursing intervention outcomes and provide input to other members of the healthcare team.
- Must be licensed LVN and able to practice in Texas.
- Preferably 1+ years as a direct care nurse.
- Charge nurse or supervisory experience is preferred.
- Experience needs to be hospital acute care, LTC's, community clinics, public health, etc.
- Must have valid photo ID and current American Heart Association CPR certification.
- Must have negative PPD results within last 12 months.
- COVID-19 testing with negative result required.
- COVID-19 Vaccination card if applicable.
- Must be able to successfully pass a urine drug screen and background check.
- Must be able to successfully pass an FBI fingerprint background check.
- Maintains and updates clinical knowledge and skills.
- Participates in relevant continuing education programs.
- Knowledge of and dedication to the highest patient care and provide the utmost service excellence to all patients.
- Ability to take initiative and to exercise independent judgment, decision-making and problem-solving expertise.
