Carpenter I

Job Summary

The Carpenter I is a skilled tradesperson responsible for building, remodeling, and repairing structures at the 22nd DAA/Del Mar Fairgrounds. This role requires a high level of physical strength, agility, and mobility to perform heavy, sustained physical work.

Key Responsibilities

• Builds new, temporary, and permanent structures
• Remodels existing offices, bars, buildings, and concession stands
• Repairs and maintains existing buildings and structures

Working Conditions

The Carpenter I works in a fast-paced environment with occasional exposure to the elements, including dust, dirt, fumes, chemicals, and unpleasant odors. The role requires the ability to operate light vehicles, including riding power equipment, and to verbally communicate and hear to exchange information.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid California driver's license
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull average-weight cleaning and maintenance equipment, tools, materials, supplies, and furniture up to 50 pounds
