About the Role:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Admissions Coordinator to join our team at Appalachian Regional Healthcare.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for patients and visitors, providing exceptional customer service in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Operate the communication system, answering phone calls, paging staff, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Determine patient needs by admitting them to the hospital or referring them to an appropriate facility.
  • Maintain a roster of inpatients, reporting daily on admissions and discharges, and preparing necessary records.
  • Perform various administrative tasks, including managing cash transactions, operating office equipment, and pulling patient charts.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; previous experience in healthcare administration preferred.
  • Ability to operate routine office machines, including postage meters, typewriters, display terminals, and fax machines.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology, ICD-10 codes, and CPT coding as it relates to billing.

Estimated Salary Range: $45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, competitive salary, and opportunities for professional growth and development.
