About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Director of Software Engineering to lead and scale our global engineering teams, ensuring the delivery of high-quality software solutions while driving operational excellence and fostering leadership development across the organization. This role will primarily focus on Pattern's Predict product, a key component of our PXM platform designed to accelerate our brands' ecommerce performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a large, global software engineering team, with direct oversight of approximately 8 engineers in the US and 40 in India.
• Drive the strategic vision and technical direction of engineering initiatives for Pattern's ecommerce analytics software, Predict, by architecting a system that can scale.
• Oversee the development, execution, and delivery of software projects, managing the SDLC, ensuring timely releases, high quality, and adherence to best practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, operations, and other engineering leaders, to prioritize and deliver on key business initiatives.
• Ensure organizational efficiency by streamlining processes, optimizing team structures, and managing resources effectively across projects.
• Promote a strong focus on software quality, scalability, security, and performance, with regular assessments and improvements to engineering practices.
• Provide leadership in identifying and mitigating risks, addressing technical challenges, and ensuring teams are equipped with the tools and resources they need to succeed.
• Recruit and hire top-level talent to ensure the highest quality.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with a proven track record of leading and delivering large-scale projects.
• At least 5-7 years of leadership experience, managing diverse engineering teams, with demonstrated success in building and growing high-performing teams.
• Experience managing large teams of 20+ engineers, with a strong emphasis on scaling teams, ensuring quality, and driving operational efficiency.
• Proven ability to manage and collaborate with global teams, including oversight of offshore development teams, ensuring alignment across time zones and geographies.
• Strong understanding of software development best practices, including agile methodologies, architecture, software development lifecycle, and maintaining quality in applications.
• Exceptional leadership, mentoring, and team-building skills, with a focus on fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, capable of aligning engineering goals with broader business objectives.
