Adjunct Faculty - Philosophy

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Faculty member to teach philosophy courses at our colleges. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in philosophy, excellent teaching skills, and a passion for mentoring students.

Responsibilities

  • Teach a range of philosophy courses, including introduction to philosophy, ethics, logic, and history of classical philosophy.
  • Assess student learning outcomes and provide feedback to students.
  • Maintain a thorough and up-to-date knowledge in their regular teaching field.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and review.

Requirements

  • A master's degree in Philosophy or a related field; OR a bachelor's degree in Philosophy with a master's degree in Humanities or Religious Studies; OR a California Community College Instructor's Credential in the discipline area; OR the equivalent.
  • An equity-minded focus, responsiveness, and sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
