About the Role

Capital Industries is seeking a highly skilled CNC Machinist to join our team in the equipment manufacturing process. As a CNC Machinist, you will play a crucial role in setting up and operating computer numerical control (CNC) machines to produce precision components.

Key Responsibilities
  • Machine Setup and Operation: Prepare and set up CNC machines based on job specifications, including fixturing setups, tool setups, touch offs, and programming CNC machines using CAM software or manual input.
  • Tool Selection and Maintenance: Choose appropriate cutting tools and install them in the machine, conduct regular maintenance on tools to ensure optimal performance, and replace dull or worn tools as needed to maintain precision and quality.
  • Quality Control: Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications, make adjustments to the machine and tooling as required to maintain accuracy, and identify and troubleshoot issues that may affect the quality of the product.
  • Reading and Interpreting Blueprints: Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to understand machining requirements, translate design specifications into machine instructions and programming, and ensure accurate production.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a safe working environment, follow proper procedures for handling materials, tools, and equipment, and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of machine settings, tool changes, and production runs, document any issues or deviations from the standard process, and provide regular updates to the team.
  • Collaboration: Communicate effectively with team members, engineers, and supervisors to ensure smooth workflow, collaborate with colleagues to troubleshoot and solve machining problems, and provide input for process improvements to enhance efficiency and quality.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry trends, advancements, and new technologies, provide input for process improvements to enhance efficiency and quality, and participate in training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • Education and Skill Requirement: High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical education or certification is a plus.
  • Experience: Proven experience as a CNC Machinist or in a similar role.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings, knowledge of programming languages such as G-code and CAM software, strong attention to detail and precision, ability to operate and troubleshoot CNC machines, excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, and knowledge of safety protocols and practices.
