About the Role

Carnival Corporation is seeking a talented data scientist intern to join our team for a 10-week summer internship program. As a data scientist intern, you will work closely with our data science team to develop and implement machine learning models to improve operational efficiency and guest experience.

Salary and Benefits

The selected interns will receive a competitive salary based on their level of education and experience, with undergraduate students earning $25.00/hour, graduate students earning $35.00/hour, and Ph.D. students earning $45.00/hour.

The internship also includes comprehensive benefits, including health insurance, paid time off, and access to employee discounts.

Job Description
  • You will be responsible for designing, building, and launching new data models and visualizations in production, leveraging common development toolkits.
  • You will analyze large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights that can inform business decisions.
  • You will work closely with cross-functional teams to understand their data needs and provide actionable insights.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineer, Information Technology or equivalent educational or job experience, master's degree preferred.
  • 2 years of work experience with analysis applications (extracting insights, performing statistical analysis, or solving business problems), and coding (Python, R, SQL) (or 2 years of work experience with a master's degree).
  • Proficiency using MS office Suite including Outlook & MS Teams.
  • Strong SQL skills and ability to create queries to extract and build tables and database concepts required.

Eligibility:

  • Eligible candidates are enrolled in a four-year accredited undergraduate program (where they are at least a rising junior) or in a graduate/Ph.D. program and have a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • MUST NOT be a graduating senior in the summer 2025.
