**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a highly skilled Child Mental Health Therapist to join our team at the Centers for Independence. As a Child Mental Health Therapist, you will provide mental health therapy, clinical interventions, and behavioral management support to a caseload of children and adolescents (ages 0-17) and their families.

**Key Responsibilities:**

+ Provide effective psychotherapeutic clinical interventions to children and adolescents with mental illness, developmental disabilities, substance abuse, medical disorders, or a combination of those conditions.

+ Conduct initial and ongoing assessments, including risk assessments; develop and review treatment plans; provide direct services and referrals based on the client's individualized needs; and complete all documentation and service requirements on time.

+ Collaborate effectively with internal and external referents and care systems to facilitate referrals and maximize client outcomes.

+ Maintain a 75% or better productivity for billable services monthly.

+ Write effective treatment plans, monitor progress, and document outcomes. Continually assess client risk and act accordingly.

+ Participate in supervision, clinical collaboration, and clinical consultation.

+ Maintain a thorough case file or client record by documenting timely services.

+ Continually seek to improve the knowledge base and skill development by attending in-service training and conferences to maximize client outcomes.

+ Complete necessary paperwork for insurance billing.

+ Comply with Federal law, WI law c.51. and administrative regulations, community mental health (DHS 35), clients rights (DHS 94) and confidentiality (DHS 92) regulations, and agency policy and procedures.

**Requirements:**

+ Master's degree in social work, clinical psychology, psychiatric mental health nursing, or a degree in a specified related field. Educational background must meet or exceed the requirements of DHS 35.

+ Wisconsin State license as an LCSW, LPC, or LPC-IT must be obtained before the hire date or job transfer date.

+ Valid Wisconsin driver's license.

+ Vehicle liability insurance in accordance with Agency policy.

**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:**

+ Commitment to best practice standards of community care and recovery principles.

+ Broad knowledge of psychopathology, normal development, and psychotherapeutic interventions.

+ Awareness of personal, cultural, educational, and environmental aspects of community living for individuals with mental illness, developmental disability, substance abuse, medical ailments, and the co-occurring possibilities of those conditions.

+ Knowledge of community mental health systems, community resources, WI law and administrative regulations, civil commitment, guardianship, and other applicable WI statutes.

+ Knowledge of using work-related tools such as computers, cell phones, texting, computers, photocopiers, Microsoft Office, and Teams.

+ Maintains confidential information and discretion.

+ Ability to work individually and in a team setting.

+ Organizes and uses time efficiently and effectively.

+ Takes responsibility for the quality and timeliness of work and achieves results with little oversight.

+ Adheres to all workplace and safety laws, regulations, standards, and practices.

**Physical Requirements, Visual Acuity, and Work Conditions:**

+ Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.

+ Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.

+ The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing, and viewing a computer terminal.

+ The worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
