Fiber Optic Splicer II

We are seeking a highly skilled Fiber Optic Splicer II to join our team at Kanaan Communications, LLC. As a Fiber Optic Splicer II, you will be responsible for splicing and placing fiber cable, as well as troubleshooting and testing.

• Splice and place fiber cable for large cable transfers
• Perform Adtran and Calix testing and turn-up
• Conduct light labor, including lifting manhole covers and barricading open manholes
• Work with ISP/OSP terminations
• Work in, from, and around hand-holes and manholes

• Be at least 18 years of age
• Have authorization to work in the United States
• Have 2 or more years of fiber splicing experience
• Have knowledge of hot cuts and solid OTDR testing
• Have ribbon splicing knowledge (preferred)
• Have experience reading and interpreting outside and subscriber plant facility records and engineering schematic work prints

• Working knowledge of direct termination of fiber-optic connectors
• Working knowledge of ISP/OSP fiber optics terminations in splicing products
• Working knowledge of analog and digital transmission
• Electronics training or experience demonstrating knowledge of AC/DC theory

The employee will be standing, walking, climbing, balancing, crawling, crouching, lifting, holding, or stooping while on shift. The employee may be required to lift or move up to 10-50 pounds.

The Splicer II Fiber position pays an hourly wage of $36.00 per hour, depending on experience.
